Job Profile

Thorough knowledge of Import & Export Rules, Customs, DGFT Rules, Regulation Policies and Notifications, Import & Export Logistics, Cost effective transportation, Negotiation with Transporters and Freight Forwarders, Compliance statutory requirements, meeting customer delivery requirements, Liaison with Customs, GST, DGFT etc.

  • Handling of all day-to-day commercial operations like dispatch, shipping, LC documentation, invoicing, collection, bank transactions such as documentation for LC, BG, bill discounting, reconciliation, analyzing commercial terms for enquiries and order in a highly export centric EPC company.
  • Responsible for Pre Post Documentation, preparing export Invoice, packing List, tracking Shipment, Letter of credit, Coordination with Overseas Buyers, CHA, freight forwarders Shipping Agents regarding shipments, Preparation of BRC.
  • Dealing with Banks for the Export documents related issues, payments issues, handling Exchange control requirements etc.
  • Checking, processing and Passing Accounts entries in SAP system for the Payments received, Bank charges related to the Export transactions
  • Handling Export documents and submission to Banks, DGFT, etc.
  • Keeping track of remittances received and providing settlement instructions to Banks Invoice wise
  • Coordination with Export team and Banks for the tracking of documents movement, submission and checking the final completion of all formalities for the Banks, DGFT etc.
  • Dealing with Banks for the Export documents related issues, payments issues, handling Exchange control requirements etc.
  • Handling negotiations with transport agencies follow up of consignments for both exports and domestic shipping
  • Responsible for accounts receivables follow up monitoring
  • Excellent with procedure relating to customs, DGFT licenses matters, duty drawback Rodtap etc.
  • Responsible for DGFT, EEPC activities; dealing with trade associations like CII etc.
  • Responsible for factory office staff insurance, transit insurance, mediclaim – staff workers.
  • Responsible for handling legal matters contractual obligations.
  • Verification of Export Check list and expertise in whole Export Custom Clearance process and Incentives
  • Follow-up with FF/CHA for on time placement of Containers, dispatch of containers from plant to avoid sailing miss, post shipment documents and providing update to GST team
  • To send enquiries to various FF for Air and Ocean Export shipments. Making comparative statement and sending goods through L1 forwarder.
  • Maintaining the specified transit times across the globe for all Air and Ocean shipments. in case of OTP miss should be able to explain the reasons along with corrective action.
  • Coordinate with Internal planner, global planner, picking and packing team for smooth execution of shipments.
  • Making MIS, weekly and monthly presentation to Senior management on Export Activities
  • Should be very verse with calculation of container utilization, generating deliveries in coordination with material planner and preparation of loading chart.
  • Attend the escalation from global or local and resolve the issue with Corrective and preventive action.
  • Verification of Import Check list and expertise in Import Custom Clearance (DPD and CFS)
  • Arranging Air and Ocean Pickup from various countries
  • Co-ordinating with freight forwarder, CHA, Shipping Line, Terminal for clearance of import goods.
  • To handle import of goods at concessional rate of duty, Second-hand Capital goods, EPCG Goods, Repair and return goods, Re-import shipments, Sample, FOC goods, etc.
  • Tracking of Import shipments and clearing goods as per companies priority list.
  • Making MIS, weekly and monthly presentation to Senior management on Import Activities
  • Coordinate with Internal planner, global planner, global logistics for smooth execution of shipments.
  • Analyze and determine duty opportunities and draft responses to Customs government inquiries.
  • Establish accurate HSN TARIFF classifications across a very broad assortment of products, components, materials, and spare parts; and maintain appropriate material master data
  • Ensure record keeping documentation is complete along with compliance with all customs rules and regulations.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Preferably with Bachelors in related curriculum such as Commerce, Diploma in export / import, Foreign Trade, International Business, management preferable and 5+ years of related experience in handling Customs / DGFT / Foreign Trade Operation
  • Must be aware of Customs Procedures, Rules and Regulations. and Department functionality
  • Knowledge of ERP system preferred.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to get work done from Freight Forwarder and CHA.
