Job Description:
A business development professional has three primary responsibilities:
1. Identifying new sales leads (Inbound & Outbound)
2. Pitching products and/or services
3. Maintaining fruitful relationships with existing and new customers / partners
Generating leads, day-to-day duties typically include:
• Researching organizations and individuals online (especially on
social media) to identify new leads and potential new markets
• Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and
set up introduction & progression meetings
• Assist in the planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
Business Development duties include:
• Preparing PowerPoint presentations as required
• Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in
• Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person
• Assist in training personnel and helping other team members develop their skills
• Protecting the organization’s intellectual keeping properly all
information and strictly confidential.
• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for
accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities
to add value to job accomplishments.
